It has been a good start to the year with this poem finding a home at The Cabinet of Heed and the promise of two more published works coming in the next few months. "Artemis Waits" is a special one. My grandmother had passed and as I looked to the night sky while traveling to her funeral, I made note of the complete lack of stars above. I've told my creative writing students that poetry can be a way to process grief. This is the poem which embodies that idea for me.
